  1. If you have a flow rate of 500 gal/hr then that is the flow rate.

    The velocity through the 2" valve will simply be greater than in the 4" line.

    You have the same thing at the Metering point where the velocity through the o*****e Plate or Venturi Tube increases. This produces a Pressure Differential across the metering device that is translated by the instrumentation into Flow Rate.

  2. 500 gallons per hour,  the flow will remain the same, the speed is what is going to change due to the change of area of the pipes of whatever it's passing through.

    Flow = 500 gallons/hour or

              500X60= 30,000 gallons per minute

  4. it would depend on if this was supply or discharge on the supply your max is 700   gph that is at a pressure of 80lbs psf
