If you have a listed # in the phone book, does that mean you are not 100% on the Do Not Call List?

Many people are on the Do Not Call List to make sure they are not contacted for solicitation of business. However, can you have a listed # in the phone book and be on the Do Not Call list? Thanks in advance.

  1. Yes, your number can be in the phone book and you can also be on the Do Not Call Registry.  The phone book doesn't matter.  The solicitors get your number from other sources, like filling stuff out on the internet for coupons or newsletters.  You must call the National Do Not Call Registry from the phone number you wish to register.  There is also one for cell-phones now.

Do Not Call registration for cell phones: You MUST call from the cell phone you want registered:

    1-888-382-1222

The National Do Not Call Registry for other phones:

    www.donotcall.gov

It's very easy to do, and remember to do it again each fall.  I just re-entered mine while checking on this for you.
