your jaw would be weak, the metal plate is only to support your jaw in hope of it healing power.to resort make to normal of course.

well it seems you are reporting a  bone  plate! well these plates are to approximate edges of the  fractured parts  and they aid in healing and providing strength to the  jaw!  It provides  approximation and strength !
