  1. if this is a laptop you cant upgrade the graphics card, but the rest is fair game. yes it would be cheaper. unless u need a new graphics card u shouldnt buy a new laptop

  2. You really can't easily upgrade your current graphics processor. And are there any areas that your current one is running slow in?

  3. Sadly enough you cannot upgrade your video card. Lap tops have very limited upgradability. You are better off buying a new pc.

Get a new laptop, that is what I recommend.

  4. Look, gaming laptop is a bit of an oxymoron. If you really want to game get a desktop. It's very hard to upgrade a laptop is you almost always sacrifice speed.

I'd say get a new computer, as it looks like you got a slow model if this was actually purchased last year. Gateway is very good and gives a lot of bang for your buck, but don't mix it up with Dell (whom sucks). Try and get an AMD processor if you can.

Now, like I said; if you're going to do some serious gaming, get a desktop. This isn't to say you can't game on a laptop, but you're going to cut it close with system specs. I'd say if you have and 360 or PS3 go with a laptop, since your gaming needs are already met (and a decent laptop will provide enough power for most games). If you want a computer for your main gaming system, for the love of all that is holy get a desktop (which will play 90% of PC games with out a hiccup and will last longer).

I've seen a Gateway desktop with 6 GB of RAM, 4 cores running at 2.2 Ghz, and a pretty sweet video card for only $750.
