  1. On the surface of things, you appear to have made a huge jump.  Why would you first contact Google?  Is it a product for them?

If you have a valid idea, you have to protect your intellectual property.  If you just want to suggest something to Google because you want them to have a certain feature and you're frustrated that they don't, and you aren't looking for a share of the pie, you just go to their web page and look for a link that says, "Contact us" or "About" and that should lead to a contact number.  I know there is a Google office here in New York, in fact, my husband works in the same building, but I don't know if that's the home office.  If, however, you're looking to get paid on the deal, you should speak with an attorney who deals in intellectual property before you say anything.  He might even be able to offer you insight on making the product a commercial reality.
