It really depends what they did.

Was it bad? Use your common sense [i'm not saying you don't have any] was it anything like rape? molestation? murder? If it was something like that, then YES, report it.

And yes, they can get in trouble for something they did a year ago.

If the secret was something harmful to the person that was important to me i would tell to protect them.  Even if they were going to hate me.

it depends on the crime and how long the limit is for the crime to be considered within limit (not outdated)

wheter  i'd tell would depend upon if it was a danger to anyone (not just themself), even if its in the past whats been done once can be done again.

Only if it was detrimental to that person - like seriously if they told you they were going to jump off a cliff than yeah I guess you'd ahve to tell - the decision would be based on this...

it depends on how severe the crime was, then in that case they could get in trouble at any time if charges were pressed and if it hurt people or somebody. if u have a secret go ahead and tell it, because its not fair that you have to hold this on top of ur head and chances are one day you will regret being quiet. Most people think it makes you a snitch but  as hard as it is to believe it makes you a better person in society. If this person who is close to you is a good person, then i guess that he wouldn't have done what he did huh... just think about it.

Probably depends on what exactly it is... your firend can give themself up and get a less harsh punishment...or if you and your firend can live with it then dont tell...

I did something bad n my ex best friend told my boyfriend n totally screwed me over. i think u should keep the secret.. Even if i was no longer friends with someone i would keep my mouth shut out of respect for the friendship we once had.. No matter how juicy it is!
