If you have added too much salt to your food, how can you make it less salty? Other than adding water , is there anything else you can do?

  1. depends the potato method is very good like was said. and if it is something your boiling you can pour the old water out and put fresh in and reboil and pour out. Repeat until all the salt is out. good luck

    p.s.

    ok with gravy is actually easy just dilute with water and flour. or milk and flour. you might have to pour some off. and add these items. good luck..


  2. put a peeled potatoe in the gravy, it will soak up the salt

  3. sprinkle some sugar in it until it taste unsalted!*

  4. put a peeled potato in the pot and it will absorb some of the salt

  5. One way to fix your problem is to add more of the ingredients in that particular recipe without adding more of the salt.  Of course, you will end up with a lot more gravy!  But everyone loves gravy, and you may be glad for gravy leftovers for the next day.  You can also try adding a small amount of white distilled vinegar to the gravy.
