I have a cyst on my left ovary, and I'm feeling a sharp stabby type pain in my lower left abdomen around where my ovary is. Does that mean I'm ovulating soon?

  1. I can sometimes tell when I am ovulating if I feel some pain and/or discomfort at around the correct time. I haven't noticed a pattern of having ovarian cyst pain shortly before I ovulate though. I think that's because sometimes I have that stabbing pain every day for weeks.

If it ends up being something that bothers you a lot, you could keep a journal of what kinds of discomforts and stuff you have for several months. Sometimes this may help your doctor if they are looking for patterns, or just for your own insight into the crazy stuff your body can do.

  2. Means it could burst I recommend getting to a hospital to get it checked out.

  3. it depends.. some women have cyst but no pain experienced and some women experience tremendous pain but no cyst detected.
