  1. Most likely nothing. But, they sell houses for rabbits at petsmart that are big enough, or you can rig something up.

  2. they go in to their shell and they do not die because i caught on once and put it under a hose and it was fine

  3. Um. They get wet. What makes you think it would kill them? They should have some kind of shelter, BUT you might find that they don't use it in the rain... the ones at my parent's house seem to become more active when it's raining and seek shelter when it's hot or cold...

  4. no, box tortoises are actually most active during or after a rain.

  5. Box turtles actually love water and should always have a pool they can soak in but be easy for them to get in and out of.  Rain won't kill them, but they do need a shelter to crawl under if they want to.

  6. If you have them in some sort of enclosure, as pets, I would recommend you make a rock or log type sheltered area for them to crawl under.

This is what they do in their natural state and to emulate that, as close as possible, will help them adjust to captivity.

No, not likely they will die.  They get rained on all the time in nature.

Keep in mind that Box Turtles hibernate in the Winter.
