  1. animals are meant to be free, not stuck in a cage =[[

  2. Very good question.  Vegans shouldn't be buying birds from pet stores or breeders.  A vegan could adopt a bird.  I have been raised with birds my whole life, and we have always let the birds roam free inside except when we're not home, then they go in the cage for their own safety (birds get spooked and fly into walls, they can eat poisonous things, etc).  I feel so sad to think of birds who spend their whole lives stuck inside a cage.

  3. I'm a vegan and I couldn't keep any animal in a cage. The only reason I can think of for doing this is careing for a disabiled bird.

  4. Sure you can be vegan

Maybe you can get a HUGE cage for your birds at a pet store or get him some bird toys so they won't be bored. Take your birds out of it's cage at least 2 hours a day. Sometimes having another bird in the cage is good to so they can play with eachother. On weekends, when you're doing nothing and stay at home, close your windows and let your bird fly around the house all day.

I have a tortoise that I have to keep in a cage sometimes. I take her out for a few hours so she can eat, climb, and then she goes back in her cage to dig :) I am a vegetarian who loves animals

  5. I guess. I'm vegan and I have a rabbit soo...

  6. That's debatable.

One things that's for sure, if you buy a bird from a store, I definitely wouldn't consider you as vegan.

If a person adopted a homeless bird from a shelter or rescue, that is commendable but they should do their best to allow the bird out as much as possible.

If they bought the bird but now know that it's wrong I could consider them vegan as long as they don't leave in its cage to rot.

  7. You are RIGHT.

Vegans not supposed to imprison, captivating nor caging the animals psychologically or physically. (unless he intended to help the orphaned animals)
