  1. I have a daughter that is 17 and went thru the same thing. I wish these kids realized that name brand clothes do not make you cool or whatever they think. I did not want my daughter to feel bad because she didnot dress like the other kids so I tried to buy her what I could but it is exspensive. It does not seem to be this way as bad with boys. As my daughter got older she got a little more understanding. But I agree with you it is crazy when you can buy so much more at other stores....................

  2. I shop at A&F, and trust me, it's more expensive

have you ever thought about having them pay for a bit of their clothes they get from Aero and Abercrombie??

  3. We have a store called Max 10 where everything is ten dollars or less.  adn the shoes are from payless.  If you let the girls pick and choose there own outfits from there it really saves a bundle of cash.  As for the name brand c**p I am noticing that less and less kids are taking the time to disect each others clothing.  4 girls in My house ages 8, 12, 13, and 17.  Been there done that the girls just have to live with what we can afford.

  4. take her to the goodwill store, seriously.

  5. I dress them from aeropostal it's really not that bad if you look for bargains but other than that I don't buy them expensive clothes.  I have two boys and are very interested in what they wear but you have to put your foot down all the time.  I'm not going to buy them something that I think is expensive.  They will end up not waring it anyway becasue it will be overused or out of style anyway.  You have compromise.

  6. We recently moved to the Chicago area  and have noticed that the kids here (11 year olds)  wear the name brands too.  Do you have a Plato's Closet nearby?  It's like Once Upon a Child but for teens.  They only carry namebrands.

  7. im 14 and i hateeee aeropostale and abercrombie and stuff. who wants to walk around with a date on your shirt of when the clothing line was made? or who wants to walk around looking like everyone else and being a walking billboard?

  8. My son is just about the same way.  At this point in their lives they just want to fit in, it can be all about status as well.  I limit what I will buy my son and depends on is it shoes that are costly or is it just a TShirt.  I also try to show him it is about what he likes not the name brand on it.

  9. Where is your daughter getting the idea that expensive clothes are necessary?  Peers?  The media?  Magazines?  First, you have to deal with that issue.

Next, simply stop shopping at expensive stores...we go to Sears, Target, Mervyn's and off price stores.

  10. you can take them to kids town, easy pickins, or some urban namebrand stores. like jimmyjazz, jeans plus, etc..

  11. My kids favorite is hot topic & Abercombie...The girls are ages 16, 10, 13 months, 3 months...(twins).....And I have boys too ages 5, 8, 14...

  12. My girls are 8 & 10 and my son is 14. Heres what i tell my kids, If they need something, like jeans, I will say ok I am willing to buy you 2 pair of jeans and i will only spend no more than $20 on each pair. We can go to the mall and look wherever you want, but if you can't find something affordable, then we go to Walmart.

We usually wind up at Penneys or Limited too or even the Childrens Place. their clothes are a little expensive unless they are ahving a sale. The sales at these stores are GREAT!

I stock up on stuff when it goes on sale.

  13. I shop at American Eagle it's not THAT expensive but you still have to spend SOME money

  14. It's expensive but its what we want. My mom had the idea to talk me into "bein different" and making supper cute outfits from stores like Burlingtons or TJ maxx

but walmart clothes, well usually you can tell they're from walmart, and look cheap. Idont care as long as I look good

  15. kids always want to fit in, and clothes help.

i didnt start wearing hollister and abercrombie till 7th grade.

but it in younger grades I wore aero, and limited too.

your daughter is growing up and might want to feel older.

by her these clothes but do not spoil her with them !

for your younger kids stick with target and those places or even aero and limited too.

also you can get really cute stuff for a low price at hollister and abercrombie and aero  you just have to look.

hollister is really cute and you can find great looking stuff usually in the back in clearance. abercrombie is probbaly the most expensive, but you should only buy clothes there eevery once in a while.

aero is probably the cheapest yet it has really cute clothes !

my mom buys me clothes from these places, but I also shop at target and sears and macy because they have really cute stuff !

show your daughter all the different styles and how you can get cute stuff at different stores.

buy her clothes from those places, but dont overdo it. (like i said)

also your younger kids do not need those clothes yet.

they could also wear your older daughters when they can fit into them.

buy clothes from all differeent places !

    god bless

    need anything else ?

    contact.

  16. My daughter will not wear those name brands. She has her own style. We have Hot Topics and Journeys. Those are two of her favorite shopping spots.

  17. The cost is ridiculous, I know.  My 14-year-old daughter likes Aeropostale baby fit t-shirts, and I try to catch them on sale at the local outlet mall.  I don't mind buying the big name brands as long as the clothes are good quality.

  18. Aeropostale is cheaper then hollister and abercrombie and fitch. american eagle is also cheaper. i prefer aeropostale because they have really cute name brand clothes.

If she wears walmart or target she is going to get made fun of trust me im friends with all the preps and they always make fun of the kids that cant afford stuff from aeropostale and the other prep stores. they are going to say stuff like shes poor and i bet she lives in a box well maybe thats just my school but i doubt it cliques are tough these days. unless she can pull of the sporty look where she wears nike and puma or the skater look which i doubt she would want to considering she likes aero. she will get made fun of for wearing walmart. teens have it really tough these days and our parents dont understand it.

well i hope this helped. ♥

  19. Yup...sounds like all the kids in middle school here too.  Forever 21 is popular as well and a lot less expensive.  As far as Aero goes, I will buy my daughter things from there when it's on clearance or on sale (online).  When she outgrows this stuff, her little sister will get all this "cool" stuff and it will be new to her.

  20. I am 13, and shop at abercrombie a lot. Sometimes, I like more expensive places like juicy couture, ralph lauren, or other designers. However, at those places, I am good at finding bargains. If you want somewhere cheap to shop, but better quality than wallmart, I suggest Kohl's. A couple of my friends shop there, and it doesn't seem too bad to me.
