It's got to be one of the hardest decisions, naming a child. What did you call yours and what is the story behind it?

  1. Our children are Paige Danielle, Mackenzie Alexis, and Nicholas Sean. We just loved those names and couldn't imagine naming our children anything besides what we have chosen.

  2. i called my little boy ben before he was even born. i just think the name is lovely & suits him so much

  3. before I met my husband, I'd decided on naming a girl Elizabeth Marie. He, however had decided on Michelle. It took 6 years for us to have a child, so we had compromised on Michelle Marie. Then we had twins, so they're Michelle and Marie (I had forgotten about Elizabeth by then) When we had a son 10 years later, the girls insisted on a name beginning with M, so he's Mark.

  4. We picked "strong sounding" names, though we waited until they were born to pick a name from a short list.  We also avoided names that could be used as part of teasing.

So, we ended up with Alexander, Kristina, Katherine, and Matthew.

When our oldest was born, we just said "he looks like an Alex".  For Kristina, we took an entire week to decide.

For middle names, we gave each two.  (Somewhat of a tradition in my wife's family.)  We chose one after an ancestor, and another that we "just liked".

  5. I called my son Adam, went through a lot of baby name books and didn't like any of the names, my friend suggested it to me on the phone one night. I wanted something traditional but not to old or boring sounding, once you get a name you like usually thats it no matter what anyone else says. My partner wanted to name him after himself (William, we call him billy) but i wasn't to keen so gave him William as his middle name.

  6. my daughter (2) is named alanah morgan and my son (5) is kayden alexander. Alanah is hawiian which is just really pretty and Kayden i found on the internet and loved it!

  7. I chose some arabic sounding names and there are many to choose from just type in muslim names there are many that sound so familier you will be suprised.

  8. My 1st child is Jaidah Liana....she has a name that has no meaning...I just loved the name!!! My 2nd child, my only son, his name is Jonah Michael. Jonah because its biblical, and Michael is my dads name. My 3rd child is due in November, and is another little girl. Her name will be Emma Jaymes. Jaymes after my husband, who's first name is James.......

  9. My oldest son is called William, after my dad.

My new baby son is called Jonah because my husband and I both wrote down name suggestions separately, and amazingly both picked the same name, without any prior discussion, so it was an easy choice.

  10. We named our son after his grandmothers... using their maiden names as his name. (we shortened my mom's to something manageable, it was one of those lone Scandinavian names)

  11. My eldest is Alex Rhys (4yrs) we named him this because after going through 6 baby name books it was the only one that really just 'fit' if you get what I mean? nothing sounded right or suited him at all except for this.

My second is called Joshua Ethan (1yr) he was named the day before he was born. I was due to go for an induction and the night before we decided to go and visit my inlaws, as we were leaving after the visit I said on my way out 'this baby is coming tomorrow and he still has no name', to which my father in law replied 'how about Joshua?' well my hubby and I looked at eachother and just new it was right. After he was born the next day my husband was  in the corridor outside my hospital room looking at a display board which had been decorated with lots of different names, as he was searching through he saw the name Ethan and said 'What about Joshua Ethan? well I just fell in love with it and it just suited him so much and thats about it!

  12. I have boy/girl twins - Madeline-Grace (Grace is my fiancee's mother's name) and Christopher (my father's name).

  13. Jude Ellis.    Jude, because it was a nice, uncommon  name.  I hate the same as everyone else!!

Ellis because me ex heard the name Alice in a movie & the way the man said it, it sounded like Ellis... & i guess he liked it... the only reason it wasnt used as a first name was because with our surname, there would be too many S's!  (god help the child if it has a lisp!)

We never expected a girl anyway, so we didnt think too had about it.

If she had been a boy, she would have been called Cole Huey.

Cole.... coz its unusual & we had been watching 6th sense at the movies when i was pregnant... & Huey after Huey from the Fun lovin Criminals.. who is the epitomy of COOL!

Already chosen a boys name.. should i get pregnant again...   Roman.

  14. Taylor, Kara, and Kimberlee. They were all just randomly picked out. We picked them out becasue we liked them, and all our family liked them

  15. my eldest (9) is called megan cerys, cos we loved the name megan and cerys cos of cerys matthews, our second was to be called james after hubbies dad and bro,put my foot down, hes jamie .which suits him,and our third.(AND LAST)was calledf robert cos its a strong name, and hubby had that as top of his list for names.

not considering that my heroes are robert de nero, kennedy, hardy, redford, ha!

  16. i have not had a baby yet but if i have a boy i am going to name him kenneth micheal

kenneth- my favorite singer kenny chesney

micheal - my dads middle name
