Question:

If you have exceptionally cheap car insurance where do you get it?

I know a lot goes into calculating car insurance, not asking about that. Just want to know if you pay a really small amount for coverage, what that amount is and where you get it from. (Must cover cars in the U.S, though companies can be anywhere).

  1. I pay $50/month with Austin Mutual for full coverage on my 2001 Kia Sportage.  I have a clean driving record.

  2. $ 80 monthly.

    I did it online from

    http://best-american-insurers-free-compa...

I'd have to look at the CC statement to see their name and frankly I don't care to do that.

  3. I live in an area where car insurance is pretty high.  Every time I would search around and get a fair rate, the next year it would go way up even though I didn't have a ticket, accident or anything.  I was talking to someone in the business one day and they told me something that made sense.  Companies base their rates on their past experience with certain groups.  One group might like to insure 40 year old males living in my area, another might not have had as good of luck with that group and charge more.  You really just have to shop around.  Amecia is where I am at now, much cheaper than the companies "that can save you hundreds on your insurance".

edit****what we pay doesen't really mean squat.  It can vary 5x depending on a lot of factors.  But if you must know I pay around $800 a year for full coverage on one, clean record.

  4. Early in my driving career I knew some one who had "great rates". They were very enthusiastic about the company they were with.

Then they had an accident, which was not even their fault. Before it went to court they contacted the agent, only to be told the policy had been canceled the day before the accident.

So I don't shop by price as much as service, what good are cheap rates it the company pulls these kind of stunts.

One time I tried the independent agent route, one that seeks out the best prices for you. But I did not like that because that too can leave you in a lurch. Like they take your money but never send it in. That did not happen to me, but it has happened to others.

I think that when it comes to insurance, shopping by price can cause more problems then it solves.

I have been with State Farm for most of the years I have driven and I get to know my agent well. There maybe a better price out there, but at what unseen costs?

  5. For car insurance the quick way to get a good rate is do a rate comparison on auto policies. Make sure that you choose similar options with the same limits, car make, zip code, etc so that all things are a good comparison.

What I always recommend is an internet comparison quote at http://www.InsureAutoNow.info since they have discount insurers and will give many quotes on auto insurance polices.

  6. xxxx1101xxxx, Try getting an online insurance quote It's free and quick to do. http://www.multipleautoinsurancequotes.c...

  7. I use Geico and I pay $140 a month for full coverage insurance on a 2008 honda civic ex. I live in Texas

Geico had the best rates by far for me.
