If you have had fraternal twins once, is it likely you'll have another set?

My husband and I had our first set of fraternal twins 2 years ago (my first pregnancy) and we have been considering trying again. Do you think its possible we could have twins again? Just wondering, because we think we could financially support one more, but another mighttt be a stretch.

You're more likely to have twins in the next pregnancy than the average woman is.  I read something saying that you'd be 4 times as likely, but that still gives you only a 4% chance of having twins.  Very unlikely to have twins in your next pregnancy, but possible.

i dont know but my grandmother had  sets of fraternal twins 1 set boy/girl july28 1 set girl/girl july 29 three years apart

Yes, it is possible. When you have fraternal twins, that means that you had two eggs fertilized at the same time. That means you likely have a hormone imbalance that makes it more likely for you to have fraternal twins.  If twins "run in your family", that means there have been several fraternal twin births among the women in your family tree.

It's POSSIBLE, but not likely. To have twins once is lucky !

Lots of people think it's genetic, but it's not.

It happens when two sperms arrive to the egg at the same time. I THINK you might be able to do it with the help of a doctor though.. (I know that sounds weird), but I think what they do is that they place the sperm in your egg, so you for sure have twins. Kind of like the idea of a designer baby..

If you werent taking any fertility drugs, I'd say odds are no, you wouldnt have another set.

I read somewhere that the odds of a woman under 40 only has a 5% chance of having fraternal twins naturally.  So if you've already had one set, you should be ok.  (and if you do have twins again....go buy a lottery ticket!! lol)

I was told after my twin pregnancy that the chances were very high.

When I became pregnant again, I worried it would be twins....it wasn't.

Pregnancy after that one, I didn't worry, and BAM!  Congrats, your having twins (again)....LOL  So I've got TWO very adorable sets if I might say so myself.  hehe.  Both sets are boy girl...
