If you have never had a house warming party and you redone your home would it be bad to have a hw party?

we've taken a duplex that we have rented for 10 years bought it and knocked the wall out and made a house out of it and ive never had a housewarming party...would it be okay to have a housewarming party now after you have redone your home

It's fine to have the party, as long as you make it very clear that you're not seeking presents.  That's a huge no-no!

Of course yeah! If I ever buy a table I'm having a dinner party for that!

Rather than a housewarming how about a houselift party? (Like face lift)

You may just want to call it an "open house" party.  Make invitations with the outside of the card an old run-down dilapidated house, and a new shiny one on the inside of the card.  "Come to a party to help us break in our new interior!"

Why not just have a party and not call it a housewarming?   This way you can show off your "new" house without seeming to angle for presents.

Certainly!  People would love to see what you've done.  And remember, this is not an occasion for peopel to bring gifts... you are just providing food and asking them to helpyou celebrate a job well done!
