You get your permit when you're 15 in Washington.

Don't see any reason why not, as long as the licensed driver accompanying you is over 21. The day after I got my permit, my dad had me drive to the Mexican border, 200 miles away. The week after, I drove home from Modesto, Ca. That's six hours from our house. Yeah, got a lot of behind the wheel practice, and freeway no less. Hope you get as much road time as possible.
