  1. Honestly, the way the world is today... if there was no damage, I would not stick around or leave a note.  Some people will make a federal case out of anything, and find damage that isn't even there, just to get money out of you.

If there is damage, however, you should leave a note and offer to pay for it or turn it into your insurance.  Many people wouldn't even do THAT.  I can't tell you how many times I've found a ding in my car over the years from people who are illegally irresponsible.

  2. Nothing, if you bumped into a car but the car suffered no damage, then there's nothing you need to do about it. You only need to do something about it when you actually damage someone else's car, because if you don't and they find you in end it will be a hit & run fine for you.

I asked a cop what do you do if theres no damage and he just told me nothing because if there's no damage then there's no accident.

  3. No harm, no foul. Drive away.

  4. Are you saying you hit another car and you did no damage to that car, and the driver was nowhere around?

If there was ABSOLUTELY no damage or scratches or dent, then you're good to go.

However, even if there was even a minor scratch, some people are very caring about their cars and would want you to pay for the repairs. You should leave a note -- the same as your would want if they hit your car.

  5. What ever you do...DON'T leave a note saying you bumped into their car. A friend of mine did that...then another car or truck came along and smashed it really bad...then drove off....now guess who had to pay for the other guys damage???

Best to wait for the owner or have them called so you can tell them what happened. I always suggest using your cell phone to take pictures of everything when you have an accident. Take pictures of both cars and the people walking around....it helps when they claim more damage later on..and you have proof there was not that much damage and the people were walking around fine and not hurt.
