If you in your boat and your hat fell in water how can you get it back?

Carry a net and a boat hook.

Many hats have been retrieved with the gaff hook/crabbing net method.  You have a time limit, though.  Especially if it's a knit hat.  You're pretty much screwed if you're rowing an eight (crew).  My coxswain lost her hat at practice.  She almost cried.

Turn arround, and jump in and get it...? that is what i do sometimes...

Circle around with the boat and use a fishing net to get it out of the water.  I've had to do this a few times.
