  1. I washed all new linens for my babies.  However, for myself, you can run it in the dryer for a bit witha damp towel to get the dust off.  If you bought it at a reputable store and it is new, i would use it.  If it is second hand or at one of those discount dollar places and it was not expensive to begin, I would dry clean it.  It should cost about 30 bucks.

    good Luck!

  2. i would dry clean it first...i got an email about washing your bra's before you use because they could have some kind of thing that harms you. the email looked real so now i wash everything before i use them

  3. Depends, Is it imported?  You would be surprised at all the c**p they spray on stuff that is imported.  One is formaldehyde, to kill any buggies & keep one country from contaminating another.

I would wash it first.  Yes, I said wash.  In cold water, and tumble dry on the air dry setting for your dryer, no heat.  I have a silk duvet & that is how I clean it.  I don't dry clean.  If it absolutely has to be dry cleaned, it doesn't get to my house.

  4. use it

usually being a comforter it is just on top of the bed covers anyway and being new it is clean

  5. use it you can get it dry cleaned next year .

Washing bras or underwear is a must, before wearing any under garment should be , I cannot think of anyone not washing them before wearing them , but a comforter is not in direct contact with the skin and it wont arm you in any way .

A short time ago Dry Cleaners had to change their method of dry cleaning due to the environment ,so they are not using harmful cleaning products anymore.

  6. No need to clean first...it was done just before packaging.  Keep in mind that dry-cleaned materials give off chemical fumes up to 6 days after cleaning...these are highly toxic, so please do not use this comforter as a blanket by your face, or put a baby to sleep on top of it.

Suggestion...next time you get a nice comforter, also buy a duvet cover to fit...the cover can be cleaned in your washer for normal use, and when you want something 'special', leave the cover off for a short time...saves a lot of $$$ in dry cleaning, and no fumes to worry about, plus adds more diversity to decorating & useage.

    Good Journey!!!

  7. just use it and worry about how you are going to clean it later.  i don't dry clean stuff first before I use it.

  8. unless its leather or suede I'd wash it.  The sad truth is that most dry cleaners just wash them in a large washer and hang them to dry anyway why waste the money.
