  1. Take strike(Bat)...

    First delivery(bowl)....

  2. i would first try and then i'll tell u..............

  3. Bowl the first ball of the over/match  (Bowler)

    Take up your stance (batsman)

  4. Usually the two captains toss a coin and whoever wins the toss decides if they will bat first or field first.

I will not forget the B.B.C radio commentator Brian Johnston that said "The batsman's Holding the bowler's Willey" Gave me a good laugh.

  5. Play.

Honestly, that is the term used. It is in the Laws of Cricket. Law 16. The umpire calls 'Play'

  6. The bowler will start his first over by bowling and batsman will bat the ball from a bowler.

TO JAS G;  In cricket, ball will be bowl whereas in baseball they throw the ball, that is the difference.

  7. START

  8. I will start playing.

ask my friend to bowl and I will bat.

    Jump ball - Basket ball

    Lets play - Cricket

    Serve - Tennis

    First Pitch - Baseball

    ? - American Football

    ? - Rugby

I just made up some....correct me if I am wrong...

  10. If there is an umpire, he will look round to check that everything is in order and that the batsman is ready, and then say 'Bowl.'

If there isn't an umpire, the fielding captain will cast an eye at the batsman, to check he is ready, and then usually just nod at his opening bowler.

  11. You play!

There are certain formalities first of course, its a little different to the other sports.

The team who will be batting bowling first must be decided,  this is done in the fair old english way of tossing a coin.  the captain who guess right gets to choose whether to bat or bowl first.

The umpires go out and put the bails on the wickets and the fielding side open the bowling to the opening batsmen.

    Lots of fun

  12. I don't know that much about cricket, but don't you just stand there waiting for the pitch (or bowl, or whatever its called)?

American Baseball and Cricket seem to be more or less related; and in Baseball they just stand there until the pitcher (I think Cricket has a bowler) throws the ball.

  13. Well if you take the start from when the umpire calls it then it is "Play"

  14. Decide whos going to Umpire and score if there is no regular, who is going to buy the first round and then bowl the first ball

  15. Have a cup of tea, and flip a coin.

  16. IDK! begin? open? start?

    I think it's open.

like the opening batsman (strauss?) is facing the opening bowler (gillespe?).

  17. Open the bowling (or batting)

  18. When the umpire throws the coin and whoever wins the toss of the coin out of the two captains will decides on which teams opening batsmen sees off the first ball or which bowler takes the new ball.

  19. First ball.
