If you kill a wasp or hornet queen how does this affect the rest of the nest?

i mean does the rest of the nest respond by hunting down the perpertrator or do they die out?

  2. Probably for a short time. Then a new one probably gets assigned.

  4. Honey bees will bring on a new queen but wasps and hornets will not. The colony will just die out if the queen dies.

  5. First of all they get incredibly pissed off that you killed their queen and they try to attack you and kill you. Then when their blood lust has subsided they hold a week's mourning and have a big funeral, then the council sits together to vote on a new Queen just like when the Pope dies and when they have decided they let out a puff of white smoke and all is back to normal.
