I am a big fan of Kohei Uchimura, the 2008 Beijing Olympic champion, and I'm dying to know more about him, but the language barrier makes it next to impossible. Can someone roughly translate this interview so I have an inkling of whats happening?

  1. I'll try the best I can because they start the clip in the middle of a question.

Reporter:  "What did you feel the instant you fell?"

Uchimura:  "When I fell it brought me down but I still medaled so I am vey happy."

Reporter:  Asks something like "How did you deal with your feeling after the fall?"

Uchimura: I just needed to think it's like any other day and try to work through it till my finish."

Reporter: Sorry but it was a little hard to understand but he ask something about one of the bar events.

Uchimura: "After the parallell bars I know it was close so it would come down to my lasding.  When I stuck my landing perfectly I felt good about it."

Reporter: Asked him about being compaired to his coach.

Uchimura: "The color of my medal isn't gold so I'm not there yet but I'll try again in 4 years."

    Then He's congratulated and over.

Should give you a little idea.  Seems like a pretty nice kid.  I wish him well too.
