I just recently got a 1989 eagle medallion lx but it needs a few minor fixing to it.I was aware of the problems with the car but the reason I got it is because I was offered a good deal. But there is no seat belt to the car, well there is but it's only a lap belt.I was just wondering if anyone has suggestions on where I can take it to get fixed or get new seatbelts or something because I know nothing about cars. Please be nice! lol.BTW I live in seattle Washington

  1. It is possible for you to get proper ones from a local wreckers. Call around and see if anyone has them or something that will fit. Next, take them to a body shop or mechanical shop and have them installed.

  2. sell it it's a peice of $hit i guess

  3. That car was junk when it was new, you bought yourself a real headache..... Parts of any kind are imposable to find. Best thing you could do is get rid of it. Honestly if you paid more then $100 for it you got screwed

  4. Try a wrecking yard or ebay.

  5. Sorry but one answer is right..... Good luck finding anything for that car. I would drive it till it drops then forget you ever owned it.

As for seatbelts, find a junk car, any car and try to make them work.

Sorry for being blunt but that car has a history behind it, go thank Chrysler

  6. A salvage yard would be the best place you really need to research the car because it is a headache here's some facts about the 89 eagle

    Recall Date: 05/31/1988

    Component: 1989 EAGLE MEDALLION VISIBILITY:DEFROSTER/DEFOGGER SYSTEM:WINDSHIELD:HEATER CORE

    Potential Units Affected: 240000

    Recall Date: 12/09/1997

Component: 1989 EAGLE MEDALLION ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM

    Potential Units Affected: 32000

    Summary:

COOLING SYSTEM PRESSURES DURING OVERHEATED ENGINE OPERATION MAY EXCEED THE STRENGTH CAPABILITY OF CERTAIN COMPONENTS DUE TO INADEQUATE VENTING CAPACITY OF THE SYSTEM PRESSURE CAP.

    Consequence:

THE BUILDUP OF PRESSURE MAY CAUSE HEATER CORE TO RUPTUREAND DISCHARGE HOT COOLANT AND STEAM IN THE PROXIMITY OF THE DRIVERS LEGS.

    Remedy:

REPLACE ALL COOLANT SYSTEM PRESSURE CAPS WITH ONE HAVING ADEQUATE VENTING CAPACITY.

    Potential Units Affected: 240000

    Notes: EAGLE MEDALLION

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES. THE HEATER CORE END CAP CAN FAIL DUE TO MATERIAL STRENGTH DETERIORATION OCCURRING OVER TIME WITH EXPOSURE TO HIGH TEMPERATURE ENGINE COOLING SYSTEM FLUID.

    Consequence:

FAILURE WILL ALLOW THE DISCHARGE OF COOLING SYSTEM STEAM INTO THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT, CAUSING REDUCED DRIVER VISIBILITY.

    Remedy:

DEALERS WILL INSTALL A COOLANT TEMPERATURE CONTROLLED HEATER CORE FLUID BYPASS VALVE.

    Potential Units Affected: 32000

    Notes: EAGLE MEDALLION

I would hate for someone to get seriously burned because of faulty heater cores so be careful
