  1. the big deal about egg rolls? they're fried. these babies can pack up to 170cals per each one not even to mention the sugar laden sweet and sour sauce. after 3 or 4 of these you're diet ship has sunk.

playing around in the kitchen with different recipes cutting out the most calorie packed ingredients so that you can still have some of the taste you love is a great way to keep some of your favorite foods while you diet. look up more egg roll recipes and don't use the roll, use lower calorie oils when you're cooking, use more spices and vegies to keep the flavor alive. here's a basic recipe you can start with and add a little meat to if you wish.

    bag of cole slaw mix

1 tablespoon of  fresh ginger root (found in the grocery section) shredded fine

onion, chopped super fine or shredded

salt and pepper to taste, usually a lot of pepper

    2 tablespoons of sesame oil

heat large skillet with sesame oil and saute onions. add ginger and then toss in cole slaw mix. turn heat down to low and cover with a lid to sweat the cole slaw until done. salt and pepper. add a few crunchy oriental noodles.

  2. I also notice the sauces in chinese thai cuisine tend to pack on the pounds from sauces also not just deep fried.

Why not try chicken in lettuce wraps but cut down on the sugar in them.To get the same type of feeling but you are eating lettuce instead of deep fried.

or just eat salad and treat yourself to one a day for lunch..

I say never go without just watch portion size. That way you are not depriving yourself of something you adore.

  3. eat spring rolls instead, the have more veggies.

  4. Egg rolls are deep fried, so they have a high calorie content.   Have you ever tried steamed or pan fried dumplings?   Less calories - good luck with your diet!
