  1. buy it. it should work. There are 3 harnesses for Gm Vehicles, one for prior to 1990, one for the 90's up, and another for newer vehicles with the onstar option. This should work fine. If in doubt, go to Circuit city and buy this part. Met 80-1858.

  2. to make sure...de-install the saturn deck and take it with you in the store...the plug you buy should look identical to the plug in spots on the back of the factory deck, this way you'll be sure and won't be returning a plug for another.  Look at it this way, you're going to take the saturn deck out anyway. Just take it out now and take it with to the store.

  3. Go to www.metraonline.com and there's a link that has "Find Metra Kits for your vehicles here" You'll need to put in the make, model, and year of your vehicle. Then you'll be on a page with a drop-down list and you'll choose the harness. It will tell you the model harness you need for your vehicle. I'm pretty sure Best Buy uses Metra parts, but if they don't, I know Circuit City does.

I would've told you the part number myself, but you didn't list the model vehicle. Although, when you went to the store, they should've just gotten the right one for you. They have books and websites that tell them all of the parts.

EDIT: Mark M's answer is a little off. The plug you purchase isn't going to plug into your factory radio. It plugs into the factory harness that is still in the car when you take the radio out. So, bringing in the radio is unnecessary work. Just go online or ask the store to get you an aftermarket harness. The reason all of this is done is so that you don't need to cut into your factory radio harness in case you ever want to put the factory radio back in.

I also recommend getting a Smart Harness that's designed for the radio. Ex: Pioneer, Sony, Alpine, etc. (it has to be the same brand as the aftermarket harness or it won't fit.) That way you don't have to splice anything...you can just plug them in together. A lot less work.
