  1. I use to leave my old cell phones (back when they were too large to put in a pocket) in the car over night all the time.  People told me it shortened the lifespan of the batteries, but they always lasted until my next upgrade!  I'm sure it is not good for them, and they would always get to where they wouldn't hold a charge, which is why I would trade them in.  Batteries perform best when stored in moderate temps.  But it sure won't hurt once or twice.  Unless maybe it's - 0 degrees or something...

I would NOT try the toothpaste on the cd unless you have an old one you don't care about to experiment on.  Many "skips" on cds are dirt, oil, and fingerprints, and that is probably why some people think it helps.  But toothpaste is abrasive, and intended to scrub something much harder than the material that a disk is made of.  I worked in fine jewelry for years, and we discouraged people  from using toothpaste on jewelry because it scratches the soft metal (gold) and could scratch pearls, opals, and other "soft" gems.

  2. yes/no it depends if the moister in the air is abondent

  3. I just know that toothpaste does work, but you it can't be scratched too badly and you use the toothpaste to rub out the scratches.
