  1. It is going to depend on the website you are using but I would think it would not hold the sale price after it expired.

Besides, most carts just disappear after a while.  They're not going to keep track of that cart forever.

  2. full price.

  3. The price of the item will likely be stored in a cell in an array in a database.  If that price changes then it will be changed everywhere because all sales are made through pointers to that object.

  4. As you can see by the answers of others- there is no definitive answer. It completely depends on the website.

Offhand, I'd say any large (well known) site or any site that uses a solid shopping cart service is not going to let that happen. You might find a few smaller or poorly run sites that it could work on, but don't count on it.

On the other hand, if you are active on the site and have the item in your cart, most large sites intentionally allow the price to stay at the advertised price if you proceed to check out. They can absorb any $ loss (although there is rarely a true loss) and it is more important to keep the customer happy. For that scenario, in addition to the site it depends on factors such as how long have you been on the site (and active) and did you close and open a new browser window (sometimes that clears things- esp. if you have your browser set to dump "cookies" when it's closed).

    Cheers
