  1. depends on the reporting.

  2. If it has actually gone to collections, then it is on your credit report.

    Pull your reports and check.

Even if you pay it, it will remain there for 7 years.

Your option is to send a certified letter requesting for a "pay to delete".  You pay, they remove  it from your reports.

Just don't go along with it until you have a written document from them agreeing to it.  With out the agreement in writing, they will take your money and leave it on your report!

Keep in mind they do not have to agree to it, but you would still owe.

  3. If you mean you were 4 days late on the account itself, it could go either way. Wait 60 days, then request your free credit reports from annualcrditreport.com or call them toll free @ 1-877-322-8228 for all 3 free reports. If it's been reported late, just call the credit card co and ask if they could remove it this time only

  4. Hi there.

If it went to collections, chances are it's already shown on your credit report. In this case, it will reflect on your credit report for 7 years, possibly longer if the collection agency sells your account to another agency (I've heard of this happening).

    Good luck with that :)

  5. as long as you didn't hit 30 days past due you are fine.

  6. it may never even report ---but if it does then yes it will stay call them and request no posting to th credit file

  7. If it gets on your record, it stays for 7 years.

  8. It depends on if the collection agency has started reporting it or not to the credit bureau. Even so, the original creditor account would show the account as already in default (30, 60, 90,etc) days late that's why it's in collections in the first place. I believe the damage is already done.

Collections is just a means of creditor passing the basket.
