If you live in Puerto Rico and rent an apartment please answer as soon as possible?

Is it true that you can get your electricity bills and gas bills before its even been a month that youve lived in your apt. We have only been here 2 weeks and the girls I am renting the room from say we have a $100 electricity bill. We havent been here a month yet. I will be moving out tomorrow...are they trying to get extra cash from me. Ive already givin them money for the gas and money to help them buy things for the apt that I wont even be using and wouldnt be using if I stayed here.

People in Puerto Rico dont get their own bills, whatever the landlord says to pay you just give the money to him? Cause she says she didnt get a bill, the landlord says to pay.

All these girls have been doing since I moved in is ask me to help them pay for things, Im not getting an apt with them just renting a freakin room from them. Do you really make someone pay to use your dishes? I mean come on

Please help, moving out tomorrow need to get to the bottom of this.

I wouldnt pay it. They seem like they are just using you as a piggy bank. Tell them to **** off and just move out.

well it can be true that you can get an electricity bill when it hasn't passed a month yet because the reading is in a specific date, I moved in my apartment last month, June 1, and change the electricity to my name on June 5 and i got a bill like on the 15th because the reading was the 11th so that was a bill of six days so this month I'm getting the bill from June 11 to July 11, that's how that works.

but that girl is trying to make you pay a whole cycle of electricity, don't pay it. its impossible that you alone used that amount of electricity in two weeks.

in the apartment i was before the electricity was in the name of the owner but she always showed us the bill. but now in this apartment its in my name. i think that if you are supposed to pay its should be on your name, so don't pay it because the one that La Autoridad de Energia Electrica is going to call for the money is her not you

There is no way your share would be $100, My bill is $120 for a whole month in a 3 bedroom house, computer on all day, fan on all day and a/c on all night.  Also there is no gas company in PR.  You buy a propane tank, like for gas grills, but some ppl buy bigger ones and the bigger ones for the house are $80 and depending on if you have a gas stove or not and how much gas you might use to cook with depends on how long it will last but most ppl here it will last like 3 months or longer.  To make copies of keys it like the same prices in USA, there is no way its going to cost $100 unless its a car key with a chip in it.

Those girls are trying to take you for more money they are full of it.  Unless you have some written contract with them, I would get out of there and get to a parador or a small hotel.  Look on Hotwire.com, my girl got a really good rate on there for a hotel in Isla Verde.
