If you lived in the desert, what are some ways you could reduce wind erosion around your home?

It would depend on what kind of desert you live in.  In a desert like Arizona, you can plant trees appropriate for the desert, like cacti or other plants like popcorn flower, morman tea....  In deserts like the Sahara, you can't really plant cacti or anything else, it's too dry and too hot.  You can only rely on your camels to block the wind, or build strong walls around the place where you live.
