If you lived in the woods, could you find enough vegetation to survive? We can use the Florida everglades as an example, since you wouldn't have to worry about freezing to death in the winter.

  1. If you lived in the woods, could you find enough meat to survive?

I seriously doubt the average person who was just plunked into the woods could, as animals are pretty good at avoiding people, and the average person has never had to catch, never mind KILL the meat that they eat.

But your question states "if you LIVED in the woods".  If I LIVED in the woods, and wasn't just stranded there, presumably I would have enough knowledge concerning my environment to be able to eat at least a few of the hundreds of plants in the florida everglades.

  2. yep i would only need a knife and could live of the land

  3. absolutely (assuming it is a healthy wooland) but you would have to be careful to know what your looking for and what poisonous or not

  4. probably... depends on what type of woods. bush? rainforest? oak? and what country, and climate...

  5. If you were properly trained to know what was edible and what wasn't, then you could definitely find enough vegetation to live off. What do you think Native Americans did? I am positive they didn't get frozen dinners at wal-mart. Lol

If you were just dropped out there without training though, it might be hard but you should still be able to survive. That is unless you had never been camping or hiking in your life. Then you might be screwed.

  6. I prefer to shop at my local green grocer thanks.

  7. If you know what to eat, you could do it, but the Florida everglades wouldn't be a good place to be stranded. I wouldn't worry about freezing to death in the winter, I was a girl scout.

  8. yes it would b boring but you'd survive

this website tells you all edible vegetation in florida, you are welcome!!!

  9. I don't know about Florida everglades, I live in a bl**dy cold part of England tho' and yes I can survive on wild foods in woods. I have actually done it lived in a wood for six months, December to late June eating only what I could find. It was a protest against cutting some really old trees down and It was not a pleasant experience, I lost 3.5 stones in weight over Jan/Feb/March and wouldn't want to repeat it..... ever. It can be done though, if know what you are doing and you are prepared to eat everything that is edible. Don't recommend it tho'.

  10. of course I would find it! it's much easier than becoming a killer

  11. I would end up dieing from eating something poison. or if i did not die i well get high and freak out and someone would find me naked hugging a log behind a rock. and crying or something

  12. I'm sure that upon choosing this lifestyle i'd bring a field guide with me.

  13. In central American forests no problem ,they are the richest in plants and fruits ,roots and vines that can be part of your diet as well as small animals

I think they are left overs from ancient civilizations .
