  1. In all pool games, when playing by the official rules, the only things that need be called are the intended object ball and the intended pocket.  How it gets there or the sequence by which it is pocketed is irrelevant.  If you call the 6-ball in the corner pocket and it ends up going four rails around the table and caroms off two balls and drops in the pocket you called, it's good even if three balls dropped along the way.

You will oftentimes see these high-standards played out in bars which has always been a bit of a mystery to me.  Why drunks will play with the most confusing rules on Earth is beyond my comprehension.

  2. As long at you hit one of your balls first. It doesn't matter whos ball went in first, just as long as you hit your own ball first and one of your balls was pocketed.

  3. Not if your opponents went in first

  4. DONT LISTEN TO ANYONE ELSE, IF U HIT HIS BALL FIRST NO, IF HIS BALL GOES IN FIRST NO, ONLY IF U HIT UR BALL FIRST AND IT GOES IN AND U CALLED IT OFF THE OTHER BALL IF UR PLAYING SLOP SHOTS IT WONT COUNT IF IT MAKES IT IN AFTER  HITTING ANYTHING U DIDNT CALL. U CANT COMBO WITH ANYONE ELSES BALL TO MAKE YOURS IN, EXCEPT THE 8 IF NO ONE IS ON IT

  5. yes

  6. If you hit yours first.

  7. You would shoot again if you made a "Legal Shot" and pocketed a "Called Shot".

A Legal Shot is one where the cue ball strikes one of your balls first and then any ball is driven to a rail or is pocketed.

A Called Shot is where you call which one of your balls and the pocket for which it is to go.

It doesn't matter how the ball gets there, or if you made any of your opponents balls, as long as it was a LEGAL SHOT and you made your CALLED SHOT.

Everyone plays with different rules, but the above defined rules are the BCA Professional Rules.  If the bar/poolroom/house you were playing at has different rules, then you would have to abide by them.

As some people stated on here, there are rules in which you have to call every little bump off rails and other balls to be a legal called shot.  These are usually found in back-woods pool halls where people aren't good enough to play at a competitive level.  It's time for them to change and play by the Professional Rules.

  8. Only if your category of ball went in first.  If your opponents went in first and then yours your opponent gets a ball in hand because you fouled.

  9. IT DOES NOT MATTER WHICH BALL GOES IN FIRST !

As long as you make a legal hit on your ball and it goes in that's all that matters. It is still your turn. Your opponents ball does not even figure into the equation as long as you hit yours first. If you hit your opponents ball first that is a foul and cueball in hand for them no matter what.

  10. As long as you make a good hit ( hit any of your balls first or eight ball if your rules allow it) and make your ball in the proper pocket (if your calling pockets) then it doesn't matter if your opponents goes in too, even if his goes in first.

You may be in a situation where your opponents ball is hanging in a pocket and you play your ball to follow his ball in. This is perfectly legal and there is no need to call your opponents ball just call yours.
