  1. A fortnight or so.

  2. it should say on the delivery card or call them, from memory they will hold it for a few weeks only before returning...but it may be as long as 4 weeks..

  3. around 14 days may varie from different towns, city or village

  4. The Post Office is supposed to push a card through the letterbox saying sorry you were out, your parcel is waiting to be collected at the sorting office.  It stays at the sorting office for 14 days and if you do not collect it then it is returned to the sender.

I only know this because the Post Office returned my parcel to the sender, they forgot to put a card through my letterbox so I knew nothing about it.  It was the sender who contacted me and told the parcel had been returned to them.

If this happens to you, do not bother contacting the Post Office asking why there was no card through the letterbox as you will not get a reasonable answer. Luckily I did not have to pay the postage again for the parcel to be delivered to me a second time.

Sorry I keep calling it Post Office when its the Royal Mail, but you know who I mean.

  5. Usually it is 14 days.

  6. 14days generly
