Call us naive but we were on our way out of town and someone was pulled over with their flashers on. They said they need 8 more dollars to pay AAA to repair their car. Was this a scam. We gave it to them because we had the extra money and we would want someone to help us if we were in a similar situation. Worst case....we're out a couple bucks..but it it would suck if they were just looking for money. We're not on the AAA plan so we have no idea. Just curious. We live outside of Philadelphia,Pa

  1. Yeah, what AAA does is contract with local towing companies all over the country.  You need to pay the towing company on the spot (like anyone else), and then AAA reimburses you.

Thanks for doing it, I'm glad there are good people on the road.

  2. only if you dont have AAA "plus" . some services will have to be paid for right then.

    Gas,

Towing beyond the allowed distance. etc.

  3. They do need to be paid on the spot.  scam?  who knows ?
