  1. Wrong. As they grow older they will become curious. Its like drinking alcohol. A person who has never had a drop will become curious and try it. Some get hooked and others wont like the taste.

  2. Yes that is right because if they don't have it they don't no what it taste like, i mean when there older they might have little sugar in health way like all different fruit in a bowl with little whip cream now that healthy sweet, and your doing good parenting because if they get addicted they will start getting bigger and that's not healthy, it might effect when pregnant because it goes in there body

  3. A child inevidably will attend school. There will be class parties and such with lots of sweets. Even though your child doesnt get sweets at home there gonna get them somewhere. The best thing to do is let them know you dont want them to eat sweets and why and hope they abide by that rule.

  4. kinda true!

but your body will still crave it,

even tho it doesn't know what exactly it's craving.

your body just knows something is missing...

  5. I never ate candy as a child... I was not much of a sweet eater--no pies, cakes, brownies and never any candy... then I got preggers...had to have chocolate every day or I would get violently sick..   I had chocolate milkshakes, chocolate cakes, brownies, cookies but never candy----still don't eat candy---so, IF you never introduce a food to a child,  UNLESS he tries it somewhere else or on his own later in life, he should NOT get a craving for that food.   How could they?  Having never tasting it, how could they desire it ....  There are a lot of things I have never tasted (coffee, soda, tea) and never ever have craved them..

Oh and in spite of my wild cravings and devouring of most things chocolate during my pregnancy,  my son (now 30) does not like sweets at all... nor candy... but he loves soda....I just never bought it while he was growing up...

  6. my sister says no. the subliminal messages will take care of that.

  7. YEh thats right but eventually they will see other s eating it and will want to try it

  8. A child that isn't given the sweets are less likely to crave them but that doesn't mean they won't.  Sometimes they just get more tempted as they get older.  I use to take care of a little girl that her mom wouldn't allow sweets or junk food and then she got her first taste of it at a birthday party when she was 16 and was hooked.

  9. I don't know about what you eat during pregnancy effecting their cravings as a child... or if children even get cravings?  What I can say is this, I knew a mother that prevented her children from having any "treats" shall we say, and when they got old enough, all they did was eat the things they were not allowed having... needless to say, both children (now adults) are very overweight and have been so since they were out of their mothers reach.  Don't get me wrong, I fully intend to raise my daughter on healthy food, but I believe if she is also taught that there can be a time and place for "treats" she won't grow up to over indulged.

  10. right

  11. Well yes and no.  My mom did not give us sugary creals we got  total and healthy cereal we were  never allowed to put sugar on it. As an adult i hate that stuff.  She never gave us junk but we got it in school and from friends

  12. when me and my brother were younger we never had sweets or soda or sugar in our cereal until we went to grandpas house....you can try to stop your children from having junk food but babysitters and grandparents can be very sneaky

  13. Its pretty much impossible to avoid your child from trying junk food in one sneaky way or another!

When I was going up junk food was only for special occasions and it seemed to make it more enjoyable!

We were always taught that natural sugars in things such as fruit were just as yummy and fun as lollies and happy meals ect... Birthday parties were even better fun because we knew we were aloud to make pigs of ourself but we always respected that it was only something we got when they said so, as a reward for example!

  14. Kids will find a way to get their hands on junk food.Whether you give it to them or not, they will get it. Foods doesn't always effect kids during pregnancy. Unless it's very bad for you, it will be bad for they baby too.

  15. Give the kid some treats in a regulated manner and don't let the kid abuse sweets and you'll be fine and so will the kid. Don't terrorize the kid by not giving him or her a twinkie or donut or piece of pie as its not bad if its in moderation. My kids are studs and lean and healthy as they can possibly be and they eat sweets and don't abuse them. You should not deprive a kid out of treats and sweets as they are no different than you and me and I need a sweet a couple times a day or I will go nuts. I am healthy as a horse and work out 5 days a weeks just so I can eat sweets and get away with it without getting fat.

  16. you can't crave something you never had, they might want to try something.  no what you eat does not affect their cravings it can affect their health, unless it is crack or other drugs.

  17. What you eat during pregnancy (if it's within normal range) should not effect it.

Even fruit has sugar (simplex) vs complex in cookies, candies, etc.

The body needs and craves both sugar and salt. Everything in moderation.
