  1. Less than 3 bucks a day? And 1 dollar a meal?

    Ramen noodles every meal.

  2. Ramen Noodles, Can food, Milk, Bread, (Jam or something for the bread)

  3. Ramen

  4. I'm in the same boat as you and know exaclty what you mean. I buy cheap stuff that goes far. Here's some examples.

Spaghetti (or any kind of shaped pasta, buy the generic)

Jarred pasta sauce (buy the store brand. You can get a jar for $1 at Walmart and I honestly like it better than any name brand I've tried)

Instead of ground beef which is pricy, buy ground turkey. It's delicious, healthy and less than $2 a pound!

Buy a can or two of evaporated milk to use in recipes that call for milk. It's cheaper than always having milk around and that way you can keep your milk for drinking. Just add a little water to the evaporated milk. It's cheap too, about 50 cence a can.

Canned tuna! It's cheap, healthy and so versatile! I like to make tuna patties. Take one or two cans of tuna, add an egg, some spices and bread crumbs. Mix it together and shape into a patty then fry in some margarine or butter. I eat them with rice. Rice is another great thing to buy as it's affordable and lasts a looong time.

I try to stay away from eating a lot of ramen noodles because they're not healthy. I eat a lot of Tuna Helper (it's less than $2 a box and only calls for one can of tuna).

Buy generic whenever possible. It's usually the same quality as name brand and cheaper. Do you like veggies? Frozen spinach and brocolli is cheap. Look for sales. Check the meat counter at the store, they often have awesome specials like boneless, skinless chicken b*****s for $1.99 a pound. Check the deli counter for sales on meats. You can get a half pound of sliced turkey for less than $2.00. Do you like chicken? Chicken drumsticks and thighs are really cheap! You can get a big package for a few dollars. Make sure you compare prices and look for sales. Look through your local store's flyer each week and you can find awesome deals. Hope this helped!

    Chicken.

$20 will buy enough spuds and veggies for a week, enough meat and chicken for 4 meals.

That is based on feeding one person.

I would say some of the other answerer's do not do the regular shopping, or if they do, have not worked out the cost of what they are telling you to put in your shopping cart.

For that matter you wouldn't need a cart, you could carry it all in 2 hands.
