If you owe the state, will they take your stimulus check?

Can they do that or not because it's a federal stimulus right? I haven't gotten anything saying when I'll be getting mine but I'll be one of the very last people to get it because of my social #.

If you owe State INCOME taxes, your Federal refunds and any rebate is at risk.  If your state turned collection over to FMS, don't count on a rebate.  If it's a State debt for anything other than State income taxes you're safe.

You can call 1-800-304-3107 to see if you have been flagged for an offset due to your State income tax debt.

yes they will they kept mine for back taxes.eben though i was already on a payment plan.so if you owe don,t expect a check sorry.
