If you own a shower curtain with a vinyl or plastic liner, do you ever put the liner in the washing machine?

I was thinking of washing mine with a little bleach to clean it and keep away mildew. Will this ruin it? (Our old house had shower doors.)

  1. Don't use bleach, it can help your liner become brittle and give it a yellow cast.   My mom  washes her liner in the machine with hot water and a few large towels.  Then she puts it in the dryer, along with the towels, but only lets in in there for about 10 minutes.  Take it out and hang it back up right away.

  2. I just toss them away and buy a new one from the dollar store. if it is a thicker one you can put it in the wash machine- and yes I would add just bleach to it. it will be a bit wrinkled when it comes out, but like that other guy says hes put his in the dryer- I've never done that so I don't know.

  3. I wash mine with a few towels (they "scrub" it as it goes round) but be careful when you pull it out as it will have pockets of water trapped in it and make a mess.  Then I even put it in the dryer for NO MORE than 10 minutes. It warms the plastic so the wrinkles fall out if you hang it right away.

    Good luck!
