  1. Sorry sir,

Self sufficiency thro own farming is not possible. But at the same time, by starting of Kitchen Garden, we can get veg & greens fresh . It will also give a pleasure to us.

    Bee keeping requires some training.

  2. Go the solar lighting and water tanks as you need lots of water for fruit and veg have a great time i wish i could do it

  3. You can be largely self-reliant but can't raise everything you need. The benefits are not so much economic as an increase in quality. I'm planning on doing much the same thing if I can ever find the right place.

  4. Some places I've lived I had a tomato plant in a pot.   It was much more economical than shopping (and gave me better tomatoes).      I'd have to say goats are VERY high maintenance.   Chickens are good though.

  5. The chickens and the goat will not be high maintenance.

Beekeeping could be cost prohibitive as there is quite a bit of equipment that is required.

Fruit trees are also a lot of work.  It will take years before they bear fruit, then they have to be sprayed a few times a year to prevent insects eating your crops.  Now if you are lucky enough that the insects don't get your crops--the squirrels and birds will go after it.

Personally, I would stick with a garden.  Learn to can and to freeze.  I might even have a few chickens--but that would be it for me.

  6. You will be better off .

  7. I think everyone will wish they had a small farm ten years from now.
