If you own an SUV or large pickup, do you plan to downsize?

Do you plan to downsize to a vehicle with better fuel economy? If so, when do you expect you will do so?

actually....NO....we're looking for a bigger truck even as we speak,so we can pull a camper to out of way spots and get away on weekends at least from all this BS ....

I drive a regular sedan and even I'm thinking of downsizing to a subcompact soon enough.

I bought an old truck years ago and could not afford to drive it when gas was $0.79 in 2002 or 2003.  I'd LOVE to get 17mpg, that be more than double my mileage).  The only time is is driven is to move hay, livestock, or feed.  I bought and old Honda Civic for $700 I drive.  Gets almost as good gas mileage as a motor cycle 39-43 depending on if if use the AC).

I believe people is already downsizing their vehicles. You can find very good deals and cheap SUV at most car dealers. They are getting cheaper and people smarter...Finally! I want to buy a Hybrid but they are expensive. I read about the new Honda Hybrid coming out which it supposed to be very affordable and is very cute.

I have a Hummer H3 which I bought in 2005 when they first came out.  It's our primary vehicle and we drive almost exclusively in the city.  We buy a tank of gas ($80) every 2 weeks or so.  So, in a year I spend roughly $2000 on gas.  If I were to buy a more efficient vehicle, I might get 25MPG rather than my current 17MPG (approx). So, after buying another vehicle (and after losing a considerable amount of money on the trade-in), I might be able to reduce my gas costs down to $1400/yr.  So, I'd be spending thousands to save a few hundred per year.

I still enjoy my SUV, as do most truck and SUV owners.  In retrospect, would I have purchased a more fuel efficient vehicle?  Probably not - we need a full size family verhicle for all of us, including our dog.

I already have.    I get unlimited mileage from my new vehicle and gas costs nothing.  What is this magic conveyance?  My two legs.

i have another car so i barely ever use my SUV. My other car is a volvo. I only use the SUV if i have a big crowd i need to pick up from school.
