If the racehorse were a black filly with a white blaze: Freidalouise, after my 12 year old stripey-nosed, small, slender athletic tuxedo cat. When I saw Six Perfections, I said to my husband, that's our Freidalouise filly! Otherwise, it would depend on the names of the sire and dam, and/or the appearance and personality of the horse. Maybe after a song (if the artist granted permission), such as Going For The One (Yes) or Midnight Dynamite (Kix). Maybe Freida's sister's nicknames such as Coconut Bettina or Baboonacat (derived from several of her baboon nicknames, lovingly bestowed on her by my husband.

Santa's Little Helper is funny, though! Maybe I'd name the horse Moe or Apu! How about Mrs. Krabappel for an old nag?
