  1. Most people won't hop into a cab for just a few blocks, charging by distance (with a standard start rate) is the only way to make sure that you are making the most for the service you provide.


  2. In most places, the rates a taxi company can charge for its services is set by a commission. You just can't charge whatever prices you want.

  3. you have to charge by the mile ,other wise you,ll cheat your self out of money,good luck.

  4. The rate you charge is usually controlled by local ordinance. For example, In NYC it is required to charge a set fee by mile and time, unless it's between states (negotiated rate), or airport to city is a given flat rate.
