If you park your car and you get out and than your car starts to roll back, should you attempt to get in car?

should you attempt to get in car if it is rolling back on a hill? my friend says to just let it roll, beacuse you can kill yourself trying to jump in..Amy police our there?

I'm going for it.  I think death is unlikely unless it's about to go off a cliff or something.  Mangled limbs is far more likely.

Ever heard the term "Curb your tires"?

If facing uphill, turn your wheels away from the curb.

Facing downhill, turn them toward the curb.

The curb becomes your "chocks".

Even if the car jumps the curb, it'll go in a circle and stop.

Yes it is dangerous but at the same time I would try and stop it because you need to think of what might happen if you dont.

it depends if its going frount words or backwords i would say if you slip your screwed and if you make it you better act fast and look out for cars but you well have  a good chance of sliping because of the speed it goes 2000 pounds thrusting down a steep hill well crush anything in its path

The OBVIOUS solution to this dilemma is to make certain your vehicle does NOT move BEFORE you exit!

If your hand-brake / park-brake does not hold the vehicle, put the vehicle into gear, AND GET THE PROBLEM FIXED! For automatics, select Park. For manuals, select reverse on a down-slope, and 1st on an up-slope.

And as mentioned by another, turn front wheels INTO the kerb on a down-slope, and AWAY from the kerb on an up-slope.

If you have done all the above, and your vehicle STILL rolls, DO NOT attempt to get into the runaway vehicle.

The vehicle weighs considerably more than you do!

Your Friend is right you should never get into a car when its rolling back (when people try to get back in the drivers seat to put it in park, you can fall and maybe even wost kill your self)
