  1. No one because it's not "your" money.  Your surviving spouse may, however, be entitled to a survivor's benefit.


  2. it will remain in the ss fund and after you someone else will be befitted through it. You could have now go for life insurance policy as I did with this one ( http://www.rghins.com/ )

  5. Social security is a TAX.  It's WELFARE for retired people.  There's no seperate account.  It's not your money.  It's not inheritable.  The second the money goes to the government, it's THEIRS, and guess what!  They SPEND it the same year they collect it from you.

    It's not a savings account.  It's not a retirement account.  No one inherits it.  But sometimes your spouse can collect a partial benefit, or your minor children.
