Does anybody know if there's a name to the condition where someone personifies an object like it has feelings and thoughts? And they treat the object like a person?

I'd call it more of an emotional attachment than a fetish. Would you consider that OCD? Anyone got any ideas on a name of it?

  1. I think, personification is the only word, but if they treat that object as a higher being then it would be worshiping?? if not, they're just treating an inadiment object witha  lot of restpct....nothing worng with htat. Definately not OCD......

  2. Personification works fine but if you want something even more attributed to humans, try anthropomorphism.

It's nothing unhealthy, I'd say most people have some sort of attachment to non-living things.. Have you ever noticed that cars and ships are often female-gendered?

Unless you are increasingly becoming ever so unreasonable with your attachment, I'd say you're just worrying yourself.

But of course, I'm only a stranger on the internet. Check your friends for a second opinion.
