Question:

If you pick up a dead fish out of water, will it explode?

some friends and i were arguing about this so i figured id just ask. i mean would it get all full of air or water and then as its inards mixed with the air would it cause combustion? or what?

  1. No.  It wouldn't.  Now I have to ask... why are you arguing about this?  Who said that that kind of thing is possible?  I'm just curious.


  2. no, taking a dead fish out of the water will not make it explode. thankfully, otherwise people would have some major issues getting the dead ones to the flusher or where ever.

  5. I dunno about fish but...

    When we opened my pool there was a dead chipmunk and a dead squrrel at the bottom.  On the way up they went POP and it was just little bits of critter.  I can see where the idea comes from but not like a huge firey explosion.

  7. No. The fish will smell and deteriorate in or out of the water, but not explode.
