  1. Handicap has nothing to do with par or bogey.

    Handicap is based on the course rating and the slope rating. Both of those numbers should be on the score card for the course you're playing.

    To figure your "handicap" for one round of golf, take the your score (Y) course rating (C) and the Slope rating (S) and use the following formula. You're actually finding the "Differential" (D):

    D = (Y-C) * 113 / S.

    To find your overall handicap, do that for you last 20 scores, take the 10 best values of D, take the average and take 96%.

    For example, my home course has a course rating of 70.1 and a slope of 123, so if you shoot 90,

    D = (90-70.1) * 113/123 = 18.2

    If you don't need an "official" handicap, you can use Yahoo's handicap tracker. (Link below)

  2. Why don't you take the  best 10 scores out of the last 20 rounds played total those scores, divide by 10;subtract par for the course from the quotient, take 96% of that difference and you will have your handicap. Bogey golf usually indicated your average score is 18 over par.

  3. well if u play nine holes bogey golf is +9 to the par and if u play 18 holes then it is +18. im guessing you play 18

    ok so if u play bogey golf that is +18 to the par total of the course. so your handicap would be 18. but u say u get 2 or 3 pars so thats 18-2=16

    so your handicap is about 16. and let me tell you. that is GOOD for a 12 year old. and even for most high school players. keep up the good work. and join your high school team

  4. I would say your handicap would be around 16 to 18. That's not bad considering you are only 12. Good Luck.

    Have a good one...

  5. Some of the other answers you have received are incorrect.  The only way to determine your handicap is to have it calculated.  You must submit all scores to an official handicapping agency usually your home golf course or club.  You must input the score, slope, and rating of each course to determine your handicap.  If you bogey every hole you are not an 18 handicap.  Your more like a 13.  The handicapping system is not an average it demonstrates what your potential scoring capability is.  Google golf handicap and educate yourself on the details.
