If you pre-order an item, is it delivered on the release day?

I bought a DVD, it is out on Monday, I ordered it today, but will I actually get it on Monday or will it be dispatched on the day?

It depends on the shipper and what there policy is, some ship out on that day, while otheres have it shipped to arrive on the release date, check with who you bought it from for what they do/

I think it depends to a certain extent on the product and when it's available. I've pre-ordered items from Amazon that have arrived before the release date, ones which arrived on the release date, and ones which came after the release date (although that could have been due postal delays.
