My friend told me that if you pull a muscle in your thigh while doing a split, then stretch it, it will make you more flexible once it heals. Is that true?

  1. For the most part, yes. Stretching will help. You can stretch it and then rub thoroughly and it will make you more flexible.  When you go to first stretch it it is going to feel VERY tight so only stretch a little at a time then let the muscle rest.  Slowly stretch more and more and eventually when you heal it will feel much better and much more flexible.

  2. if you've pulled a muscle you need to relax it others wise it wont heal and then you'll be less flexible than before

  4. No you need to ice it and let it heal for at least a week or until it doesn't hurt anymore.  Pulling a muscle actually increases the time it will take you to being able to do a split because you have to wait for it to heal.

You want to gradually build up the ability to do a split which should take a little time.  Do not pull a muscle because that will be negative to you.
