instead of trying to go through security with something, if i put it in my luggage will that work? i want to be sure i can take my phiten titanium necklace with me, but i'm not sure if they'll take it away if i put it in the basket and it goes through the x ray machine? what should i do to get it through? the thing is that the titanium is covered, so i'm worried that they'll take it since they can't see the titanium...

  1. What makes you think they'd take it away from you at security??  Either put it in the small tray with your wallet and keys, or place it into your carry-on bag and sent it through xray like that.  It's NEVER a good idea or recommended that you place items of value into checked luggage.  The airlines liability for replacing certain items if the bag is lost and not recovered, does not extend to jewelry or electronic equipment, etc.  Contact any airlines baggage resolution department for a complete list of items not covered.  Your necklace is fine in your carry-on bag.

  2. The previous responder is correct.  Just put it through the x-ray machine with keys, etc.  There is no reason there will be any issue.

  3. Just put it in the dish where people put their watches, keys, etc. before they walk through the arch.  I see no reason why they would confiscate it.

However, you can put it in your checked luggage.
